New Years in Japan

- Is coming as soon as it is in other countries around the world. Here however, we need to prepare end of year cards (nengajyo), go to drinking parties (bonenkai - or meeting to forget the year that was) and eat waaaaay to much food - resulting in the next year being yet another in which you try to shed those pounds. Maybe that's just me. Pretty sure its not.
2010 is the year of the tiger (tora in Japanese) and this is the image I whipped up for my nengajyo. Well a similar image. The picture above was made in ink with a Japanese fude brush-pen which I dig the hell outta. Yes the tiger looks a bit odd. it's in mid yawn. We all look odd in mid yawn.
